“History, future, present – these themes have informed my creative process as an artist.
I offer options in navigating these time related curiosities. I intend for us to spend time on a “set” exercise for self-awareness before offering prompts, tasks, questions, and conversations on and by creating. In the end, I aim for us to leave with a broader sense of defining our practices as creators, observers, and supporters. All types of movers are encouraged. As you consider this workshop, I offer leading questions to investigate (in any depth of your choice): Where are you from? What do you hope to do? Who are you?
My responsibility as a facilitator will be to: offer a safe space for us to speak, listen, share, and observe. Not everything will run smoothly, that is ok. We will check-in with comfort levels as needed in order to process who we are, with each other.” – José A. Luis
