Highland Park Senior High School Seeks PT Dance Teacher

Highland Park Senior High School, an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World school part of the St Paul Public School district, is seeking a dance teacher for the 2022-23 school year and beyond.

The current teacher, Matthew Keefe, is stepping down to pursue new career opportunities and is assisting the school in identifying candidates for this position. He also will provide resources and support for a smooth transition.

A minimum Tier 2 teaching license is required for this position. While the position is currently part-time, it has potential to grow, and candidates with a Tier 3 or 4 license can potentially serve the school in ways beyond the dance classes.

This position includes a 1 semester Beg/Int combined class for grades 9-12 and an 1-2 year IB Dance for grades 11-12. This class covers many dance styles, including percussive, ballet, modern, jazz, ballroom and latin social dance as well as various cultural dance forms, including Indian Classical, AfroPop, and Mexican Folkloric dance. Students also study composition and performance culminating in two performances per year. IB students can test in dance for completion of their IB diploma.
