Moving Practice is a weekly class series for professional dancers. Classes prioritize rigor, diversity of contemporary aesthetics, variety of class content, and commitment.
Nieya Amezquita teaches Moving Practice in July.
Tuesday, 10:00-11:30am
July 11 to 25
Professional-level dancers of all styles are welcome.
Registration and payment beforehand encouraged: pre-register.
Suggested price: $17 per class. Pay-as-able option on all classes – we would rather you join us than not be able to attend due to financial limitations.
Nieya’s contemporary class will be a mix of various modern techniques such as Horton and Graham. We will explore the use of momentum and connecting breath with movement and also dive into different ways of trusting the body in combinations, floor work and improv.
Originally from Decatur, GA, Nieya is a dancer and choreographer based in the Twin Cities. Nieya graduated from the University of Georgia with a BFA in Dance and a BS in Psychology.
