Auditions for the Fox and Beggar Theater’s upcoming production of VANAHEIMR: Stories of the Lesser, performing November 30-December 9 at the Heart of the Beast’s Avalon Theater. The show will be choreographed by Gabby “TheBaddie” Abram.

Dancers with a strong background in contemporary, modern, and some ballet technique are encouraged to audition. Artists with previous dance/performance experience preferred. Young Dance Hiring Receptionists

Young Dance is hiring receptionists for our 2023-24 Session! 

We are looking for dance-oriented, welcoming folks to help us create a safe, collaborative atmosphere in our space. We are specifically seeking individuals able and willing to commit to a weekly shift during our next session, beginning Thursday, September 14, and ending Monday, May 13. MNIDF Production Assistant and Work Study Positions

Dance Projects by ME is seeking a production assistant and two workshop volunteers to assist with the Minnesota International Dance Festival. This project will run September-October 2023 with festival dates the week of October 16-22, 2023.

The Minnesota International Dance Festival (MNIDF) brings together international dance instructors, choreographers, community members, and emerging Twin Cities artists for a week of community exchange through workshops and performances. This year’s featured country is Mexico. The festival will include 3 week-long workshops, a choreographer’s panel conversation, and three performances.

Positions Available:

  • Production Assistant (1) to help with social media, program design, and backstage needs during tech/show week.
    Rate: $15-20/hour
    Hours: Approximately 30 total hours
  • Workshop Hosts (2) to help with registration check-in during the festival week.
    Compensation: Full Scholarship for the MNIDF workshops (3 daily workshops during 4-day festival and show ticket).
    Availability: October 17-20 from 9:30am-3:30pm

Dance Projects by ME seeks to cultivate space for dance projects inspired by diverse styles and community exchange. We strive to create dance accessibility through choreography, education, and performance.

TU Dance Center: Teaching Artists Needed

The school at TUDC is seeking teaching artists to teach for the 2023-24 school year for our Children and Teen Program. We are specifically interested in artists with expertise in ballet, modern, and creative movement who have Saturday availability.

Fall/Winter Internship at Ballet Co.Laboratory

Ballet Co.Laboratory’s Development Internship is designed for individuals interested in learning about arts administration with a special concentration on fundraising events and campaigns. The ideal candidate for this internship will have exceptional organizational/written/interpersonal skills, and creativity.

Internship Activities
Assist with the coordination and implementation of our largest fundraising efforts of the year:

  • Annual benefit performance on Saturday, October 14
  • Give to the Max Day on Thursday, November 16
  • Nutcracker in Wonderland on December 8–10
  • Calendar year-end mail and email campaign

Application Requirements
To ensure an optimal experience for the intern, the following is required to apply:

  • Start date will be the week of September 11 and run through December 15. Intern must be able to work a regular work schedule of 16 hours per week during normal office hours, with an increase of hours the week of October 9 – 14 due to benefit duties.
  • Must be able to work October 14, November 16, and December 8–10.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Arts administration experience preferred.

Internship Location and Compensation
Intern will fulfill their hours at the Ballet Co.Laboratory’s studios located at 276 E Lafayette Frontage Road in St. Paul. A $1,500 stipend will be provided – half paid in October and final payment in December. Parking is free and all drop-in/workshop adult classes are offered at no cost to the intern during their time of service.

Audition for Twin Cities Ballet’s A Minnesota Nutcracker

Auditions for Twin Cities Ballet’s production of “A Minnesota Nutcracker” will be held on Sunday, September 24 at Ballet Royale. This is a wonderful opportunity for dancers to be a part of a professional ballet production and join one of the most widely attended holiday events in the area. Auditions are open to all local dancers ages 7 and older. The performances will take place December 7-10 at Ames Center in Burnsville. 

There will be a mandatory parent meeting on Thursday, September 21 at 7:30pm via Zoom. A $25 non-refundable audition fee will be due prior to the audition. Due to limited audition sizes, students must pre-register by paying the audition fee and filling out the registration form before attending the audition.

Ballet Royale students should attend the audition with their level. Non-Ballet Royale students should attend the audition with their age on the date of the audition.

Audition Times
12:00-12:30pm: Youth Ballet I/II/III and PPP 1A-3A. Ages 7-10.
12:45-2:00pm: Youth IV, Int. I, and PPP 4A/4B. Ages 10+ with 1 year or less of pointe.
2:15-4:00pm: Int. II, PPP 5A, and higher. Ages 12+ with greater than 1 year of pointe.
