Young Dance Seeks Teaching Artists for 2022–23 Session and Beyond

Associate/Assistant Professor in Dance at MSU Mankato

The Department of Theatre and Dance seeks a tenure-track, assistant, or associate professor in dance. Review of applications will begin February 1, 2023 and continue until the position is filled.

Required qualifications: Doctoral or terminal degree in MFA or PhD in Dance (if ABD, degree must be conferred on an official transcript and received in Human Resources by August 14, 2023); experience teaching in the college/university setting; experience teaching a variety of dance levels from novice to emerging young professionals; evidence of appropriate professional, creative and/or scholarly research activity in dance; demonstrated ability to serve a diverse population and apply an equity lens to this position including social justice and/or anti-racism.

75% Time Communications Associate Position

The Communications Associate performs a broad range of internal and external communications work in support of Northrop’s communications, marketing, sales, fundraising, campus and community engagement, and K-12 arts education for Northrop programming, Northrop’s Gallery, the rental of Northrop spaces, The Bistro at Northrop, U of M Tickets and Events, and the U of M Twin Cities Campus Events Calendar.

This position collaborates closely and communicates with colleagues in all areas of Northrop, campus and community partners, media, and the general public. The Communications Associate will write, edit, and proof an expansive variety of materials from a large volume of information for all digital and print platforms and channels, ensuring clear, consistent and effective messaging and branding following Northrop and U of M brand and editorial standards. In partnership with and under the direction of the Marketing Systems Manager and Communications Manager, the Communications Associate will build content on Northrop’s website; build, test, and send email communications to targeted audiences; and support the U of M Twin Cities Campus Events Calendar by communicating with and assisting users and executing communications tactics for its promotion and expansion.

This position reports to the Communications Manager and is a 75% time (30 hours per week) currently hybrid (remote and and on-site work) position, primarily working weekdays, and occasionally weekend and/or evening hours as needed based on the schedule of Northrop’s events. Salary: $38,000 per year.

Collide Theatrical Seeking Box Office Attendant

Collide Theatrical Dance Company is looking to hire a box office attendant for the remaining two shows of our 2022-2023 season. SKOL is a full-length show that will be performed in March and April at the Southern Theater, and Our Stories is a cabaret performance at our St. Paul studio in May. Duties include:

  • checking in attendees
  • marking reserved seating
  • helping with set-up and take-down
  • working with the Southern Theater’s box office staff
  • other tasks as needed

Pay is $20/hour, with a four-hour minimum per show. Paid training. For each performance, the box office assistant needs to arrive two hours prior to the show (showtimes are generally 7:30pm Thursday-Saturday and 2:00pm and 5:00pm on Sunday).

Zenon Dance School provides instruction for dancers of all genders, orientations, abilities and levels of experience. A key part of our mission is providing quality dance classes for adult professional, community dancers, and youth in Minneapolis.

Zenon is seeking multiple new instructors to teach youth classes for our 2023 Winter Session. If you are passionate about working with young dancers and have experience teaching movement classes we would love to hear from you.

Winter Session: This is a contracted position from January 9-March 19, 2023 (ten weeks).

Seeking instructors to lead Creative Movement and various other technique forms between an age range of 3-14 years. Preferred class times: Sunday mornings/early afternoons.

Work at BCL – Seeking Part-Time Accompanist

Ballet Co.Laboratory is seeking an experienced accompanist, skilled in piano, to play for ballet classes. This is a part-time position, for which candidates must have at least 1-3 years experience accompanying ballet classes, as well as hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in music or equivalent experience.

The ballet accompanist selects and plays appropriate music for ballet technique classes. The accompanist shall choose and play at a moment’s notice music to match the tempo, meter, musicality, and length of various ballet exercises; and/or must be able to spontaneously compose/improvise to the movement appropriately. If you are primarily a reader, you should have some improvisational skill to accommodate instructions, extended endings and to edit/alter music (possibly in real time) to meet phrasing needs of given exercises.

This position is part-time, starting at $25/hour.
