About Us
Twin Cities Ballet (TCB) is an independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit professional dance company that creates original full-length and shorter story ballets, a rare and nearly lost art, as well as more abstract contemporary ballet-based works. An emerging gem in the Twin Cities, TCB has carefully built a financially solid and growing organization that is making its mark both regionally and nationally through its creative and innovative artistic endeavors. Our mission is to connect and enrich communities by making ballet approachable, relatable, and fun, through professional and original productions and educational outreach.

TCB prohibits discrimination against any employee, applicant for employment, or patron because of race, color, national or ethnic origin, age, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, veteran status or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal, state, or local law.

Momentary Certainties Dance Performance Opportunity

The Eagan Art House invites you to submit original choreographic works to be performed as part of the opening event of Momentary Certainties 2022, an outdoor visual art installation which examines the intertwined themes of ephemerality and permanence. Works should reflect on the themes of the exhibition:

On ephemerality: The nature of performance is ephemeral, “something that lasts a very short time.” Can you consider impermanence in your movement? How do you represent fragility or decay? What does it mean to perform in a landscape which is ever-changing?

On permanence: In these unpredictable times, how do the ideas of steadiness and strength inform your work? How can dance be a stabilizing presence? Consider constancy (of love, of nature) in your movement.

Works should be 5-20 minutes long and will be performed 1-2 times over the course of the event. The performance location is outside, on a grass lawn.

Contempo Physical Dance Audition

An audition will be held for professional dancers for Contempo Physical Dance’s third international choreography residency, featuring commissioned work by the 2022 McKnight International Choreographer, Mário Nascimento. Mário is Artistic Director of Corpo de Dança do Amazonas in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil.

An audition class will be taught by Marciano while Mário observes remotely. In addition to the audition class, each dancer should prepare a solo up to one minute in length that expresses who they are as an artist. Mário in particular is seeking dancers that have a variety of talents, including but not limited to diverse movement backgrounds, as well as skills such as singing, playing an instrument or acting. BIPOC artists are encouraged to audition.

Thursday, August 25
9:30am-12:00pm

Dancers selected will need the following availability for classes, rehearsals and performances:

Tuesdays and Thursdays, October 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20
9:30-11:00am: Company class taught by Marciano

Mondays-Saturdays, October 24-November 12 – three weeks
9:30am-5:00pm: Company class taught by Mário followed by rehearsal
