AMP is looking for dynamic and expressive movers for projects as part of our upcoming 2022-23 season. We are seeking passionate, authentic, and curious movers who want to work collaboratively, immerse and challenge themselves with a wide range of material, and continue their artistic development through working with a variety of artists. If this is you, come Move BIG with AMP!

Ideal candidates to join our community of artists should have a strong sense of your individual/unique movement point of view and possess an inquisitive and investigative nature rooted in community-building. All genders, races, and ethnicities are welcome and encouraged to audition.

Alternative Motion Project serves as a catalyst to empower and connect individuals and communities through the art of contemporary dance. AMP presents accessible, compelling, and collaborative dance experiences through performance + education programs.

Movers selected as Company Members will be independent contractors. Stipends will be contracted based on the amount of time and involvement within each project and performance. Benefits also include free weekly movement practice, when offered.

VIDEO SUBMISSIONS
Video submissions will be accepted if you cannot attend. Video clips should include both performance and improvisational movement. Please submit a Vimeo link (no longer than 5 minutes) by 11:59pm on Thursday, June 9th through the Registration Form. Submissions received after this deadline may not be considered. Those who submit video auditions, please regularly check your email for a schedule availability survey.

Teaching Artist Position at Ballet Co.Laboratory

The School of Ballet Co.Laboratory is currently accepting Teaching Artist applications for the 2022/23 school year. 

Classes are instructed using Ballet Co.Laboratory’s curriculum/syllabus. Join us to mentor, empower, and inspire the future of dance.

Ray Terrill Dance Group: Seeking Dancers

We are seeking performers who possess:

  • Serious dance artistry
  • Documented concert performing experience
  • Strong technical contemporary dance capability
  • Willingness to work as an ensemble
  • Comfortable with human expression and performing full out

Rehearsals: Two 2-hour rehearsals per week, dependent upon casting decisions; beginning May 2022. Available Fridays, 7:30-9:30pm and Sundays, 11:30-1:30pm. Performances scheduled for July 2022 and beyond. Performances are compensated.

Highland Park Senior High School Seeks PT Dance Teacher

Highland Park Senior High School, an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World school part of the St Paul Public School district, is seeking a dance teacher for the 2022-23 school year and beyond.

The current teacher, Matthew Keefe, is stepping down to pursue new career opportunities and is assisting the school in identifying candidates for this position. He also will provide resources and support for a smooth transition.

A minimum Tier 2 teaching license is required for this position. While the position is currently part-time, it has potential to grow, and candidates with a Tier 3 or 4 license can potentially serve the school in ways beyond the dance classes.

This position includes a 1 semester Beg/Int combined class for grades 9-12 and an 1-2 year IB Dance for grades 11-12. This class covers many dance styles, including percussive, ballet, modern, jazz, ballroom and latin social dance as well as various cultural dance forms, including Indian Classical, AfroPop, and Mexican Folkloric dance. Students also study composition and performance culminating in two performances per year. IB students can test in dance for completion of their IB diploma.

Audition for Christopher Watson Dance Company

Dancers interested in performing with the Christopher Watson Dance Company are invited to take workshop classes with the company on two Sundays, April 24 & May 1 from 2-4:30 PM. The free classes will include modern technique, company repertoire and improvisation.

Christopher Watson Dance Company is multigenerational and its dance works draw on classic modern technique, including Cunningham, Limon and Taylor. Company and guest choreographers employ improvisation and create in collaboration with the dancers. Musical scores range from Western classical and romantic to contemporary and pop.

Upcoming performances include a concert at Minnesota Opera’s newly renovated Luminary Arts Center (formerly The Lab Theater) in Minneapolis’ North Loop the week of October 31-November 6, 2022.

Dancers are paid hourly for rehearsals and performances.

Jawaahir Dance Company Auditions

We are looking to bring on new company members and would love to have you audition!

Prepare to perform a 3- to 6-minute solo. At the end of the time, you will learn a JDC choreography to be performed with all auditioning dancers. Bring music on a CD or mobile device.

Seeking Dancers for MN Fringe Show

Perform with Pacific Midwest Ballet in the 2022 MN Fringe Festival!
This summer, join us in putting on Cupcake Murders: a Ballet, a modern-day murder mystery with dancing cupcakes! When the co-owners of a cupcake bakery start mysteriously dying after a lucrative buy-out offer, it’s up to the remaining owner to clear her name before she too becomes a victim. The show will be 45 minutes long, with five performances during the MN Fringe Festival, August 4-14, 2022.

Auditions
Auditions for all will be Saturday, May 7, 2:00-3:00 pm at Threads Dance Project. We’ll teach a 15-minute warm up barre and two sections of choreography. Creative Director Needed for 2022-2023 Dance Season

The Cannon Falls School of Dance, located in Cannon Falls, Minnesota, is seeking a creative director/instructor for the 2022-2023 season for students ages 3-18. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit that formed in 2015. Classes take place in the area community center. This is a great opportunity to run your own dance studio without the responsibilities of being an owner.

Our desired candidate would have a strong ballet background, with additional skills in tap and jazz (requested, but not required). Additionally, a bachelor’s degree is preferred, but we will consider equivalent experience.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Weekly instruction of classes with a well-developed curriculum for the growth and progression of each dancer from Creative Moment to Pointe classes
  • Plan, choreograph, and direct yearly production/recital
  • Maintain an encouraging and inspiring classroom environment
  • Provide annual evaluation of each dancer’s progress including recommendation for placement the following year.

Audition for Twin Cities Ballet’s 2022/23 Season

Twin Cities Ballet is holding an open audition on Saturday, April 16 for trainee, apprentice, and company dancers for our 2022/23 season!

Company Positions: Soloist and Principal level, competitive salaried position, 34-week season. We are specifically seeking male-identifying company dancers. Strong classical ballet, partnering, and contemporary skills required. You must be eligible to work in the United States.

Apprentice Positions: Unpaid Apprentice positions for dancers eighteen and older seeking performance opportunities, training, and artistic development to grow, gain experience, and better prepare for a company position.

Trainees Positions: High school-age, for those who wish to receive the finest training available and perform with a professional company alongside professional dancers in professional productions, while on a path to a professional career.
