The Position
TU Dance seeks mission-focused, outgoing candidates for the position of Administrative Associate. The Administrative Associate (AA) is a generalist who will support a wide range of program activities at TU Dance Center, including student registration, scheduling of faculty and facilities, day to day activities, and record keeping. The position will also provide administrative support for TU Dance’s fundraising/development, ensuring the success of TU Dance events, as well as providing support for marketing tasks. The position reports to the Artistic Director and Executive Director in connection with the School Coordinator.

This position offers:

Twin Cities Ballet: Auditions for A Minnesota Nutcracker

Twin Cities Ballet’s beloved holiday classic with a Minnesota twist returns to Ames Center December 10–12, live and in person! 

Open auditions will be held on Sunday, September 26. All are welcome! 

Consisting of a cast of approximately 120, TCB’s A Minnesota Nutcracker is seen by over six thousand audience members over a single weekend each year and has become one of the most attended and cherished annual professional holiday events in the Twin Cities. Every year TCB also performs a special matinee performance of A Minnesota Nutcracker for elementary and special education students and seniors. This year we are also kicking off our new Sensory-Relaxed Performance Series, the first of its kind in Minnesota! These performances are designed to be more accessible for persons with sensory sensitivities and families with young children.

MotionArt Open Call

MotionArt is looking for adults of all ages, abilities, races, ethnic backgrounds, gender identities and sexual orientations who have some theater/dance background and a sense of timing/musicality to be a part of a comedic (outdoor) video created by Pam Gleason and filmed on September 3 and 4.

Simple choreography involves walking and/or traveling some other way through space, some improvisation, some isolations and gestures while sitting/standing, musical timing, and reacting (at times over dramatically) to what is going on around you. 

Reimbursement of $13.00/hour for time in rehearsal and filming.

MotionArt especially welcomes inquiries from Black and Indigenous peoples and other peoples of color as we strive to be more inclusive and representative of the community in which we live and work.

Young Dance Seeks Teaching Artists for 2021-2022 Session

Young Dance is seeking teachers, assistants, and substitutes for 2021-22 and beyond. Teachers with experience in the following styles are encouraged to apply: Hip Hop, Afro-Modern, Modern/Contemporary Technique, Ballet, Percussive Dance, and Creative Movement.

Founded in 1987, we believe young people are artists with something important to say and that working across differences is a benefit to all. Our mission is to transform lives through movement. We are an inclusive community where creativity flourishes and healthy risk-taking is encouraged. Our classes are open to everyone of all levels and abilities. Participants enjoy our collaborative and student-led approach to dance education. Our curriculum emphasizes technique, improvisation, and choreography through the elements of dance: Body, Action, Space, Time, and Energy. Dancers develop skills in observing, participating, and reflecting in a safe and supportive environment that values a commitment to self, to the group, and to lifelong learning.

Pay rate is $45/hour for lead teaching, $22.50/hour for assisting.
