The Managing Director will work alongside the Artistic Director and Board of Directors to support strategic planning, lead mission-driven programming, and manage daily operations.   • 2-5 years of experience in arts administration, nonprofit management, or a related area
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • High level of self-motivation, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities at a time
  • Skills in graphic design
  • Experience with digital media marketing
  • Desire to learn and grow with the organization

Additional attributes that we are hoping for:

  • Experience with finance, i.e. budgeting, QuickBooks, financial forecasting
  • Passion for dance
  • Experience with CRM software
  • Experience with WordPress websites
  • General understanding of Google Analytics and Google Ads

Young Dance Seeks Teaching Artists for 2021-22 Session

Young Dance is seeking teachers, assistants, and substitutes for 2021-22 and beyond. Teachers with experience in the following styles are encouraged to apply: Hip Hop, Afro-Modern, Modern/Contemporary Technique, Ballet, Percussive Dance, and Creative Movement.

Founded in 1987, we believe young people are artists with something important to say and that working across differences is a benefit to all. Our mission is to transform lives through movement. We are an inclusive community where creativity flourishes and healthy risk-taking is encouraged. Our classes are open to everyone of all levels and abilities. Participants enjoy our collaborative and student-led approach to dance education. Our curriculum emphasizes technique, improvisation, and choreography through the elements of dance: Body, Action, Space, Time, and Energy. Dancers develop skills in observing, participating, and reflecting in a safe and supportive environment that values a commitment to self, to the group, and to lifelong learning.

Pay rate is $45/hour for lead teaching, $22.50/hour for assisting.

Collide Theatrical Seeking Box Office Assistant

Collide Theatrical Dance Company is looking to hire a box office assistant for our 2021-2022 season.

Two full-length shows will be held in October and April at the Southern Theater, as well as three cabarets in December, January, and February at our St. Paul studio. For a full list of show dates and times, please visit www.collidetheatrical.org/show-dates.

Duties include:

  • checking in attendees
  • marking reserved seating
  • helping with set-up and take-down
  • working with the Southern Theater’s box office staff
  • other tasks as needed

Pay is $15/hour. For each performance, the box office assistant needs to arrive two hours prior to the show.

Concerto Dance is Holding Auditions

Concerto Dance is holding auditions for new company members Saturday, August 14 from 1:00-3:00pm.

Concerto Dance is looking for dancers ages 18 and older who have a strong background in both modern and jazz dance, previous performance experience, and who support the mission of the company for our upcoming season. We are specifically looking to expand our cast for our new work Girls in the Band. Dancers must be available Friday mornings for company class and rehearsal, with additional Wednesday morning rehearsals scheduled. Paid performance opportunities.

Dance instructor, Plymouth Congregational Church

Plymouth Congregational Church in Minneapolis is in search of a dance and movement instructor for young people in grades K-12+.

Plymouth has a long history of incorporating dance into worship services. We are looking for a candidate who: takes interest in and inspiration from a variety of cultures and genres; teaches free and authentic movement; can envision and design offerings that enrich the worship experience, even inviting the congregation into responsorial movement and other projects.

Requirements:
– peace and social justice oriented
– welcoming to dancers and movers of all ages, abilities, genders, and sexual orientations
– experienced and comfortable working with groups of children, typically in K-2 and 3-12 grade groupings
– will prepare a piece as an offering or prelude in Sunday worship (9:00am or 11:00am services) approximately once every two months
– is available for a short Open House in the late afternoon of September 1 for an outdoor meet and greet with prospective dancers
– is available Wednesday nights between 6:00-8:00pm, starting September 15
– is available for Christmas Eve service December 24 at 5:00pm

– is available for Youth Sunday service (third Sunday in May) at 10:00am

Pay: $70 per session

Twin Cities Ballet Open Company Positions

Twin Cities Ballet has an open position for a male company dancer, Soloist and Principal level. Competitive salaried position, 34-week season. Strong classical ballet and contemporary technique required.
