Morgan Thorson Teaches with Moving Practice for Professionals

Moving Practice is a weekly class series for professional dancers. As a collective, we aim to offer classes that prioritize rigor, diversity of contemporary aesthetics, variety of class content, and commitment.

Tuesdays, 9:30-11:30AM at Saint Paul Ballet.
Morgan Thorson teaches in April!
Professional level dancers of all styles are welcome.

About Morgan’s classes:
Moving is dancing and dancing is working. We will work with prompts sourced from image, sound, drawing, touch-points, and text, to enhance states of feeling and moving. As we practice with these prompts, we grow somatic grounding, concentration and curiosity for how we make decisions, embody action and cultivate images. With this research we consider the witness as active participant, and frame and space as dynamic materials. I aspire to facilitate a space for personal and collective journey as well as the reorientation of self-perception to the magic we make when we work. Bring your notebooks.

Pre-registration required – https://www.arena-dances.org/class-payment/
Flexible pricing and free parking!

MotionArt Virtual Children’s Dance Classes

MotionArt focuses on nurturing children’s individual creativity while facilitating their understanding of the dance elements of space, time, and energy.

Ages 3-5 explore these elements through playful, structured activities allowing them to expand their movement vocabulary, develop body awareness and gain self-confidence. Ages 5-7 explore the dance elements while being introduced to new movement skills and the creation of their own dances. Ages 7-12 expand their creative and kinesthetic awareness while learning basic movement skills of modern dance.

We offer ways for children to dance during these uncertain times through Zoom and outdoor classes. Please go to motionartmn.org to sign up for classes. There are various options for payment/donations, and no one will be turned away for inability to pay.
