Hothouse is a multi-purpose studio space in Minneapolis featuring drop-in classes for teens and adults. MotionArt Adult Modern Dance Classes

MotionArt’s mission is to share the art of dance and the joy of movement with people of all ages and abilities. We strive to enrich lives by fostering creativity, body awareness, and self-expression in a fun, non-competitive, welcoming environment. We offer ongoing dance classes in-studio, on Zoom, and outside (weather permitting).

Paying the regular rate helps keep our organization afloat; however, no one will be turned away for inability to pay. There is also an option to pay what you can.

Join in on CULTIVATE, A Trainee Program morning classes and The School at TU Dance Center Level 4/5 technique classes!

Teaching artists include TU Dance Founder and Artistic Director Toni Pierce-Sands, Laurel Keen, and Abdo Sayegh-Rodriguez. These classes are for intermediate/advanced dancers with the exception of GYROKINESIS® (designed for physically active participants which include exercises that require some flexibility, coordination, and light cardio).

Young Dance Summer 2024 Registration is Open

Since 1987, Young Dance has been transforming lives through movement, encouraging youth to build body and spirit through the art of dance. We are an inclusive community where creativity flourishes and healthy risk-taking is encouraged. Our classes are open to everyone of all levels and abilities!

*Session 2: July 8-11 – This class will center on the needs of neurodivergent youth and those who may be sensitive to stimulation. A quieter environment, support for taking more breaks, and a range of ways that they participate will be available.

Morning Camps: Monday-Thursday, 9:00-11:30am – $150

In a Specialty Dance Camp, dancers explore how dance connects to other art forms and the world around them. Camps include Afro-Latin Fusion, Choreography, All Abilities Dancing + Stories, Dance + Photography, and more!

Afternoon Camps: Monday-Thursday, 12:00-4:30pm – $250

Variety Dance Camp introduces participants to dance forms from some of the Twin Cities’ best educators. Styles include Afro-Latin, Ballet, Choreography, Hip Hop, Improv, Jazz, Modern, Yoga, and more!

*Session 3: July 22-25 – An additional camp offers dancers with Down Syndrome a space to try various styles and express themselves through movement.

All Abilities Dancing Classes and Camps:

Dancing with Wheels for ages 11+ – Tuition: $150 or with a class card
Wednesdays, 5:00-6:00pm from June 5-August 21 – no class on June 19 or July 3.
Build dance skills and express yourself through movement for youth and adults with wheeling devices.

All Abilities Dancing for adults with and without disabilities – Tuition: $150 or with a class card
Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30pm from June 5-August 21 – no class on June 19 and July 3.
Express yourself while you explore the elements of dance and develop skills in improvisation and collaboration.

Registration is open! Discounts are applied for multiple registrations. Scholarships are available.
