The Arena – Jordan Lovestrand Subs Moving Practice for Berit Ahlgren

Moving Practice is a weekly class series for professional dancers. Classes prioritize rigor, diversity of contemporary aesthetics, variety of class content, and commitment.

Pre-registration and payment beforehand are encouraged.
Suggested price of $17 per class. Pay-as-able option on all classes – we would rather you join us than not be able to attend due to financial limitations.

Jordan Lovestrand is a native Minnesotan. He received Honors in Dance from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN. During his undergraduate studies, he took part in the DanceJerusalem study abroad program and traveled to Jerusalem, Israel. At the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, Jordan was first introduced to Gaga under the direction of Aya Israeli. He has trained with Shahar Biniamini, Noa Paran, Yaniv Abraham, Shani Garfinkle, and other luminaries in the field. Soon after his time at the Academy, he became a member of Kolben Contemporary Dance Company in Jerusalem. Recently, Jordan has performed Danielle Agami’s Next Door with Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia.

TU Dance Center: In-Person Open Classes for Intermediate/Advanced Dancers

Join CULTIVATE, A Trainee Program dancers for a series of open classes this Fall. Teaching artists include TU Dance Founder and Artistic Director Toni Pierce-Sands, guest choreographers Christopher Ralph and Anna Pinault, and TU Dance Center teaching artists Wendy Anderson, Laurel Keen, and Abdo Sayegh-Rodriguez.

Daily classes from 9:30am-11:00am, unless noted otherwise.
Cost: $16/Class or $140/10 Classes
Intermediate/Advanced Level

TU Dance Center: 2023-2024 Children and Teen Program

The TU Dance Center Children and Teen Program introduces the joy of creative movement and beginning dance technique. Classes, divided by age, provide a comprehensive base on which to expand by developing body awareness, coordination, balance, flexibility, strength, and musicality.

The 2023–24 Session includes Afro-Modern, All Abilities Dancing, Ballet, Breaking, Creative Movement, Choreography, Dance Together, Hip Hop, Modern, Musical Theater, and the Young Dance Performing Company. Introducing Musical Theater, Adult/Teen Somatics, Yoga, and Adult Modern for the 2023–24 session! 

Classes began on Thursday, September 14, and continue through Sunday, May 19, 2024. The final weekend of the session includes a performance opportunity at the Luminary Arts Center. 

Feldenkrais Classes with Jeffrey Wells

These classes are meant for anyone who is interested in deepening their self-awareness and possibilities of action, regardless of previous experience in the Feldenkrais Method. The space will be open 10 minutes before class begins. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early, especially if you are new to class, to sign in and familiarize yourself with the space. Wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in – having a long-sleeve layer is helpful to adjust to temperature shifts. We provide blankets to practice on and any props needed for specific lessons.

Bharatanatyam Classes at the Ragamala Training Center
Registration for the 2023-24 Ragamala’s Training Center is now open for all ages 7 and up.

Ragamala Dance Company/Training Center is internationally recognized for its lineage, rigor, and creativity. At the Ragamala Training Center, students receive classical training in the style of Bharatanatyam carefully created by the internationally renowned Padma Bhushan Smt. Alarmél Valli. Artistic Directors Ranee Ramaswamy and Aparna Ramaswamy are dedicated to preserving and carrying on their guru’s tradition and passing it on to the next generation of dancers. Classes run from September 2023-May 2024.

Advanced Drop-In Classes with Collide Theatrical

Join us for class on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 9:30am for intermediate/advanced ballet, advanced jazz, and Collide Barre with the company.

Adult Drop-Ins: $20 per class or $180 for a 10-class pass. Good for either ballet, jazz, or Collide Barre. Must be used within 6 months.
