Ballet Co.Laboratory’s fourth annual fundraising event, Let’s Go Crazy: A Celebration of Minnesota’s Notable Musicians will be one part rock and one part glam. Experience BCL’s future performance space while taking in a dance performance featuring the music of famous musicians who have called Minnesota home. Proceeds will directly benefit the company dancers, students, and outreach efforts of Ballet Co.Laboratory.

Young Dance Presents Fall Fling–With Fairview Business Center Partners

Join Young Dance and friends on Saturday, October 16 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. for Fall Fling!

This outdoor celebration is fun for the whole family! Enjoy performances by Young Dance, CAAM Chinese Dance Theater, Smiling Drum, St. Paul Ballet, and Youth Performance Company alongside activities such as games, participatory demonstrations, and bubbles. Food will be available from the Got Rice food truck.

Individuals with and without disabilities regularly engage with the organizations at the Fairview Business Center. We value access and continue to work to improve our programming and space to better meet people’s needs. Parking is wheelchair accessible and seating will be available. Please let us know if there are any accommodations needed to participate in this event. 

Masks recommended. Activities will be outdoors, but in the event of rain, the event will continue inside at each partner’s location.

James Sewell Ballet’s 30th Anniversary Retrospective

Join us in celebrating a remarkable 30 years of James Sewell Ballet! Powerful performers showcase favorite gems from the past along with new hits, highlighting the company’s distinct voice and vision. This program will also feature a new dazzling work from Da’Rius Malone. Live musicians will accompany select works.

Twin Cities Tap Festival Showcase

The seventh annual Twin Cities Tap Festival Concerts and Showcase shines a spotlight on the dynamic and ever-changing art of tap dance.

Thursday, October 21 – The first night of the Twin Cities Tap Festival kicks off with the annual showcase, featuring phenomenal local and emerging tap artists and ensembles, including this year’s Elite Tap Feet – some of the best teen tap dancers in Minnesota!

The Twin Cities Tap Festival celebrates the incredible breadth, depth, and artistry of the ever-evolving American art of tap dance. The Festival provides opportunities for dancers of all ages and abilities to participate in classes, workshops, and performances all centered around enhancing technique, expanding creativity, and experiencing this uniquely American art form. We aim to foster learning, inspiration, and innovation as well as provide a venue to showcase tap artists, companies, and choreographers.

Twin Cities Tap Festival Concerts

The Twin Cities Tap Festival (TCTF) celebrates the incredible breadth, depth, and artistry of the ever-evolving American art of tap dance. The seventh annual TCTF Concerts and Showcase shines a spotlight on the dynamic and ever-changing art of tap dance.

Friday and Saturday, October 22-23 – This year’s concert features live music accompanying the best in local and national tap artists, including Jumaane Taylor and Max Pollak! In-person and livestreamed.

Celebrating John Coltrane’s A Love Supreme with live jazz and tap danceJumaane Taylor’s Supreme Love displays the spiritual, artistic, and historical values that infuse human life, using a symbol of nature to transcend hope. Max Pollak will perform All in One, a solo performance of uniquely arranged drum rhythms, songs, dances, and stories that outline Pollak’s artistic evolution. All music is created live by Pollak, only using his body.

Awake. Alive. Anew. – Threads Dance Project

Threads Dance Project emerges from the ashes of the pandemic to celebrate its tenth anniversary, premiering the film Out of the Ashes and new works by 2020 Tapestries Program choreographers Gabby Abram, Jennifer Pray, and Elayna Waxse.

Out of the Ashes honors those impacted by 9/11 and asks whether we can resurrect a better way of living. This film, along with the works premiered by Tapestries program choreographers, emerges Threads anew.

We are back by popular demand. This performance is part of the End of Summer Splash! by Green Minneapolis.

Dancer and choreographer Yuki Tokuda creates live performance with violinist Natsuki Kumagai (MN Orchestra) at Peavey Plaza in downtown Minneapolis. Tokuda’s choreography on J.S Bach’s Chaconne expresses that there is always a hope during dark times and after sorrow.

SOLO: Six World-Premiere Dance Films On Demand

Each year, three exceptional Minnesota dance artists receive the coveted honor of a McKnight Dancer Fellowship. SOLO celebrates the 2018 and 2019 recipients with new works expressly tailored for these exceptional performers. The result is an evening of six fascinating world premieres. In 2021, these solos exist as dance films.

SOLO will include some captioning in Spanish and English.

Come celebrate Twin Cities Ballet of Minnesota’s new season and welcome its new professional company members and apprentices! Learn about the exciting performances coming up this season, meet and mingle with the Artistic Directors, board, staff, and dancers, and watch a preview performance by the company!
