Threads Dance Nexus – A Space to Connect and Create

The Threads Dance Nexus is a brand new community hub that not only provides a home for Threads Dance Project, but also strengthens the social fabric of our Minneapolis community through the connective power of dance.

Our 1,480 square foot space has a professional-grade speaker sound system, sprung floors, barres, and mirrors; is ADA compliant and has two gender-neutral changing rooms. Its large windows and garage door allow for an abundance of natural light and fresh air.

Conveniently located in the Seward neighborhood, we offer free parking and free side street parking, are a 5-minute walk from the Franklin Light Rail Station, and a 2-5 minute walk from nearest bus stops (lines 2, 9, 22, 67).

To request space, please email nexusrentals@threadsdance.org. A nonrefundable deposit equal to one hour at the renter’s base rate is due to secure space.

General Usage (for-profit, events, etc.): $22 per hour
501(c)3 / Individual Artists: $20 per hour
BIPOC / College Students: $18 per hour

Rent the Young Dance Studios

Young Dance has two large studios available for rent in the Midway neighborhood of Saint Paul. We are easily accessible by the Green Line light rail, the 16 and 67 Bus Lines, with ample parking in the Fairview Business Center parking lot. The space is fully ADA accessible with ramps to the sprung studio floor and automatic door openers.

Rentals are available between the hours of 9:00am-3:00pm Monday through Friday, after 4:00pm on Saturday, and all day on Sundays.

The studios are newly equipped with sprung Harlequin Marley flooring, a bluetooth speaker system, and wifi. There are no mirrors. The studio has a clear COVID safety plan including regular disinfecting of all floors and surfaces, as well as a new HVAC system which refreshes the air 7-8 times per hour. Renters will also have access to a large lobby (25’ x 29’) and up to 50 chairs.

Studio 1: Measures 41′ x 38′ and rents at $25/hour

Studio 2: Measures 38′ x 38′ and rents at $20/hour

Lease Office Space at The Cowles Center

Did you know that The Cowles Center has creative office and artist studio space available for lease?

Our downtown Minneapolis offices and practical-use spaces range from 150-2,000 square feet and serve a wide range of professions, from dance companies to a PR firm to individual fine artists! We even offer nonprofit pricing to qualifying organizations.

Open Office Hours Consultations – November 10

Are you a dancer interested in learning more about professional development, advice on how to tailor a resume, tips on successful interviewing, or tools for networking in the local or national dance community?

Artists in the community are encouraged to sign up for 30-minute consultations every second Wednesday of the month through The Cowles Center’s Open Office Hours Program. The next Open Office Hours will take place on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 9:00am-5:00pm. Consultations can take place virtually or in person, pre-registration required.

Rent Space at The Arena

Need a space to create?

Located in the heart of the LynLake neighborhood, The Arena is available to rent for your rehearsal, class, and event needs!

Our space offers 1,305 square feet, 30’×40′ of sprung floor, Marley dance flooring, wall-length mirrors (with curtains to cover if preferred), free wifi, and a changing room.

We are situated on multiple bus lines, including the 21, 4, 23, 612, and 18; with plenty of free street parking around the building.

TU Dance Center: Renting TU Dance Center

TU Dance Center is available for rental when not in use by the school.

TU Dance Center features:

Reception area and front desk for check-in or event use; access to adjacent dressing room and green room with kitchenette are available upon request.

Both studios: sprung dance floor with Marley-type surface by Harlequin, wall of mirrors, portable ballet barre units 10′ in length, room-level sound system with CD and mini-jack inputs, 50′ LCD TV cart for presentation and videoconferencing. Large windows providing ample natural light.

Studio 1 only: a curtain that can be drawn on entire mirror, wall-mounted ballet barres of 27′ and 33′.

Studio Rentals at Collide Theatrical in St Paul

Need space to rehearse, choreograph, teach, or hold an event? Collide Theatrical has two studios available for rental in our beautiful St. Paul location.

Studio 1 has 1700 square feet of sprung floor, full wall-length mirrors, Rosco Adagio Marley dance floor, high ceilings, sky lights, and three chandeliers.

Studio 2 has 550 square feet of sprung wood floor.

Both studios have the following amenities:

  • Ballet barres for up to 18 students
  • Free and accessible parking and access to public transportation line
  • Gender-specific bathrooms (non-gender-specific bathroom available in the adjacent building)
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth room speakers
  • Cubbies for holding shoes and clothes
  • Two long folding tables
  • Access to up to 30 folding chairs
  • HVAC heated and cooled spaces with temperature control
  • Hallway drinking fountains. Access to kitchenette area available upon request.

Single Rental:
Studio 1 – $30/hour
Studio 2 – $20/hour

Long-Term or Multiple-Day Rental:
Studio 1 – $20/hour
Studio 2 – $15/hour

Payment for rental bookings must be made 48 hours prior to your booking to hold your reservation. A signed rental agreement and certificate of insurance must be provided prior to your reservation.
