A pioneering dance innovator, noted for decades of collaborations with leading forces in avant-garde jazz, Dianne McIntyre returns to the Walker with the world premiere of a major new work featuring an evening-length score by celebrated composer Diedre Murray and poems by Obie-winning playwright Ntozake Shange. This elegant and captivating work employs a live jazz ensemble and a vigorous company of dancers to explore the deep rivers of communication in Black American history and culture.
