Lucid Movement Workshop - June 15

Lucid Movement is a new practice exploring how we can “journal” with our bodies. Using an integration of yoga, dance, and physical theater techniques we will let movement be our guide as we explore ideas together and perhaps come away with a moment of inspiration, aha, or shared laughter. This session is focused on joy and the question of what makes us feel delight. All movement experience levels welcome – bring your body and your curiosity

Saturday, June 15
2:00-4:00pm
Sliding scale, $20-30.

Sarah Zuber (she/her) E-RYT, YACEP  is a teacher, singer, mover and poet. She’s been both student and teacher of yoga and mindfulness for over ten years, the last 7 spent teaching in an eating disorder treatment setting, and is currently in her third year of training to become a teacher of Alexander Technique, a modality focused on cultivating ease and freedom in the body. Sarah is curious about the concepts of body as home, body as vessel, body as instrument to create with and live from. She wants to live out the question, “how can we live in greater congruence with our bodies and the earth?” Sarah loves getting her hands caked with earth in her garden, reveling in the pleasure of poetry and language, and walking and resting besides Minneapolis’ beautiful lakes.

Evie Digirolamo (she/they) is a physical theater practitioner and teaching artist based in the Twin Cities. She has practiced with Sandbox Theatre since 2012 where she uses generative practices and ensemble-focused process to create new multi-disciplinary work. Evie founded the aerial theater The Swingset, which explores dynamic movement as storytelling. As a teaching artist, she has received training in drama therapy techniques and uses expressive arts to communally practice expanding access, advocacy, bodily autonomy, balanced relationships, personal boundaries, healthy risk taking, process grief and change, and spread the joy of expressing ourselves together. The Art of Relationships curriculum she wrote in collaboration with Upstream Arts is used in schools and day centers all over the metro area.
