Studio K (Keane) Rental Space

Studio K, operated by Keane Sense of Rhythm, is a brand new dance space built for percussive dance. Studio K features two studios with a lobby in the Creative Enterprise Zone in the Midway area of St. Paul. Studio K can also be a small theater with blackout curtains on the windows.

Studio 1: 30’ x 34’ – 1020 square feet
Studio 2: 14’ x 20’ – 280 square feet

Rent the Young Dance Studios

Young Dance has two large studios available for rent in the Midway neighborhood of Saint Paul. Easily accessible by the Green Line light rail, the 16 and 67 Bus Lines, and with ample parking in the Fairview Business Center parking lot. The space is fully ADA accessible, with ramps to the sprung studio floor and automatic door openers. 

Rentals are currently available:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 8:00am–4:00pm
Tuesday, 11:00am–4:00pm
Friday, 11:00am–4:00pm and 6:30–9:00pm
Saturday, 3:00–9:00pm
Sunday, 8:00am–3:00pm

The studios are newly equipped with sprung Harlequin Marley flooring, a Bluetooth speaker system, and wifi. A projector with AV adapters is available by request. Studio 2 has ballet barres and a mirror. The studio has a clear COVID safety plan, including regular disinfecting of all floors and surfaces and a new HVAC system that refreshes the air 7-8 times per hour.

Young Dance Offers Summer Classes and Camps

Since 1987, Young Dance has been transforming lives through movement, encouraging youth to build body and spirit through the art of dance. We are an inclusive community where creativity flourishes and healthy risk-taking is encouraged. Our classes are open to everyone of all levels and abilities! Discounts are applied for multiple registrations. Scholarships are available.

Creative Movement 1: Pre-K, Ages 3-5 – $75
Monday or Tuesday offerings, 4:30-5:15pm

Creative Movement 2: K-1, Ages 5-7 – $75

Dance Together: Ages 1-3 with Caregiver – $75

Build dance skills and express yourself through movement for youth and adults with wheeling devices.

All Abilities Dancing for adults with and without disabilities 
Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30pm

Express yourself while you explore the elements of dance and develop skills in improvisation and collaboration.

Morning Camps for Ages 4-7
Dance a Story: Creative Movement and Storytelling
Monday-Thursday, 9:30am-12:00pm
5 sessions available. Session 2: July 8-11 will center on the needs of neurodivergent youth and those who may be sensitive to stimulation. A quieter environment, support for taking more breaks, and a range of ways that they participate will be available. $150

Camps for Ages 8-18
Monday-Thursday.
5 sessions available.
Session 3: July 22-25 – An additional camp offers dancers with Down Syndrome a space to try various styles and express themselves through movement.

Morning Camps, 9:00-11:30am
In a Specialty Dance Camp, dancers explore how dance connects to other art forms and the world around them. Camps include Afro-Latin Fusion, Choreography, All Abilities Dancing + Stories, Dance + Photography, and more! $150

Afternoon Camps, 12:00-4:30pm
Variety Dance Camp introduces participants to dance forms from some of the Twin Cities’ best educators. Styles include Afro-Latin, Ballet, Choreography, Hip Hop, Improv, Jazz, Modern, Yoga, and more! $250

The Threads Dance Nexus is a brand new community hub that not only provides a home for Threads Dance Project but also strengthens the social fabric of our Minneapolis community through the connective power of dance.

Our 1,480 square foot (37 x 40) space has:
A professional-grade speaker sound system.
Barres, mirrors, and sprung floors.
Two ADA-compliant, gender-neutral changing rooms.
Large windows and garage door allowing for an abundance of natural light and fresh air.

Conveniently located in the Seward neighborhood, we offer free parking and free side street parking. We are a five-minute walk from the Franklin light rail station and a 2-5 minute walk from the nearest bus stops (lines 2, 9, 22, and 67).

Collide Theatrical Summer Intensive

For dancers ages 14 to 22: Improve your technique and advance your artistry in a positive and welcoming environment! Classes include Musical Theatre Jazz, Classic Jazz, Ballet, Leaps and Turns, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, and more. Students may register for individual weeks, or sign up for all 3 weeks and save!

The Intensive culminates with our Collide Showcase (for those who register for all 3 weeks of the intensive). Video will be taken so students have professional-grade copy to use for future auditions and submissions. Local students are also invited to perform excerpts from the Intensive at the MN State Fair in August!

Level placement requires a referral from a teacher or Collide company member, or a 2-minute video submission. Please send video (1 minute ballet adagio with pirouettes and 1 minute of jazz) or referral name and contact information to Nathan@collidetheatrical.org.

Drop in for a jazz class in a safe, inclusive environment. Whether you’re just starting your dance journey or want to brush up on the basics, we welcome you to class.

Studio Rentals at Collide Theatrical in St. Paul

Need space to rehearse, choreograph, teach, or hold an event? Collide Theatrical has two studios available for rental in our beautiful St. Paul location.

Studio 1 has 1700 square feet of sprung floor, full wall-length mirrors, Rosco Adagio Marley dance floor, high ceilings, skylights, and 3 chandeliers.
Studio 2 has 550 square feet of sprung wood floor.

Both studios have the following amenities:

  • Ballet barres for up to 18 students
  • Free and accessible parking and access to public transportation line
  • Gender-specific bathrooms (non-gender-specific bathroom available in the adjacent building)
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth room speakers
  • Cubbies for holding shoes and clothes
  • 2 long folding tables
  • Access to up to 30 folding chairs
  • HVAC heated and cooled spaces with temperature control
  • Hallway drinking fountains
  • Access to kitchenette area available upon request

Single Rental:

Master Class Series with Elisio Pitta from Brazil

Come join us for an incredible master class series in dance, celebrating Black History! This in-person event will take place at the Center for Performing Arts in Minneapolis.

Brazil Arts Twin Cities brings the legendary Afro contemporary dancer and choreographer Elisio Pitta from Brazil! While in Minneapolis, Elisio Pitta is offering a 3-day master class series February 27-29, followed by a performance with Brazil Arts on Friday, March 1 at 7:30pm!

Among many roles, Elisio Pitta is the founder of Alujá Dance Company and Bale da Mata Dance Group. Since 2000, partially relocated to Brazil where he implemented the CARDAN, Centro de Referencia da Dança Negra, directed the International Encounter of Black Dance, and created Companhia C-Contemporary Black Dance.He has created over 50 works of dance. Lately he has been dedicated to creation and circulation of solo pieces and directing the Solos Coletivo de Dança Negra Contemporânea. Get ready to immerse yourself in the vibrant rhythms and movements of Brazil’s rich cultural heritage.
