Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theatre: In-Person Winter/Spring Session Classes

Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theatre is thrilled to welcome you back for our winter/spring sessions! These in-person sessions run through June 1, 2024. The first class is free for new students. Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theatre – Studio Space for Rent in Minneapolis

Located in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis, rent Zorongo Flamenco’s studio for classes, private rehearsals, events, and more! Our space is available to book in consecutive 30-minute periods when not in use by the Zorongo Flamenco school. 

First-time renters should contact Zorongo Flamenco for more information prior to booking.

Erin Thompson Teaches Advanced Contemporary Classes in Person and on Zoom

Erin’s advanced-level contemporary dance class at Zenon Dance School includes floor work, standing warm-ups, and phrase work, all designed to enhance the healthy use of joints and muscle groups as dancers release their weight fully into the support of the ground. Experiential awareness, body mapping, improvisation, and creative work are included as dancers channel their own expressive artistry within the movement.

Modern Dance Class with Thern at Tapestry

Dancing and finding pleasure in movement is for everyone of any age!

I’ve taught dance for all ages and experience levels for over fifty years. In my weekly session of modern dance classes, we’ll be working with somatic movement, structured improvisation, and floor work to build strength, flexibility, and ease of movement. You’ll learn patterns that move through space in community with other dancers, encouraging spatial and group awareness.

Mondays, 12:00-1:30pm

Tuesday Open Ballet with Lisa Erickson

Please join Lisa Erickson for Ballet on Tuesdays from 5:30-7:00pm in the Sunroom at the Center for Performing Arts.

Lisa is a passionate ballet teacher with 35+ years of experience teaching, challenging, and encouraging dancers of all levels. Her new Tuesday Open Ballet class is welcoming, fun, and open to all! Class includes a full barre, center, and floor work that will provide the opportunity to feel the joy of traveling through space. Students will be strengthened, challenged, and guided in naturally honing their body placement, technique, personal style, and positive mindset. The power of our personal dialogue and mindset is one of our greatest untapped resources to unlock previously untapped potential. It is all great fun!

Every student is special, different, important, appreciated, encouraged, respected, and unique.

Zenon Dance School – Winter Xchange Program/Work-Study

We are looking for volunteers to be a part of our Xchange Program for the current Winter Session!

Xchange is Zenon’s work-study program that allows students to volunteer in exchange for dance class credit.
The Winter Session will run from January 8-March 17.

Weekday in-person shift = one class credit
Weekend in-person shift = two class credits
All online shifts = one class credit

Minnesota Ballet Theatre Audition

Minnesota Ballet Theatre is hiring Male and Female dancers with strong classical technique for Company Trainee and Apprentice positions for the 2024/2025 Season.

The season runs from September 2024 to May 2025.

Classes and rehearsals usually occur Monday through Thursday from 9:30am-2:00pm (schedule subject to change), with additional classes and rehearsals on Saturdays and Sundays before performances.

To be considered for Company positions, please submit your resume/CV and video link to: minnesotaballettheatre@gmail.com. Videos should include a classical variation (en pointe for women). Latest performance video is preferred if possible.

Black Label Movement – Company Class

Join Artistic Director Carl Flink for an advanced, twice-weekly, open-to-the-public company class. Each standalone class, rooted in Black Label Movement’s unique athletic style, will build on a creative idea that Flink or a Company Mover brings for that day.
