DanceMN Survey – Share Your Opinions

Since 2011, DanceMN has provided a free weekly newsletter featuring upcoming performances and events, auditions, classes, grant opportunities, and more—with the goal of ensuring all are connected to dance in Minnesota.

In this upcoming season we’re checking in with you, our community of nearly 2,000 dance practitioners and subscribers, so we can better serve your needs. Today, we’re asking you to complete a 5-10-minute survey that will help us understand the different ways you connect to dance, the goals and needs you experience in this community, and areas where DanceMN could provide value.

Later this spring, we’ll also host a series of “town hall” style meetings where we’ll invite deeper discussion.

Thank you to those who have taken the time to complete this survey.

Sincerely,

The DanceMN Steering Committee

Les Grands Ballets Canadiens: Dancing Beethoven, Presented by Northrop

Les Grands Ballets Canadiens returns to Northrop for the first time since 2006, dancing two monumental masterpieces. The iconic four-note opening of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony—said to represent “Fate knocking on Man’s door”—inspired American choreographer Garrett Smith’s Complete. The late Uwe Scholz’s choreography for Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 is considered his masterwork—displaying inventiveness and exceptional musicality. As the music races along at an irrepressible pace, these gorgeous artists convey the sheer joy of dancing to one of the most perfect symphonies ever written.
