Seeking Sub(s) for Move2Music Community Dance Classes

I have been teaching a dance-driven fitness class for 10 years – a gig I got from DanceMN!

Business is good, but I am traveling more for work and a really great sub (or two) would be great to have. Currently I can schedule teacher friends from a distance to do my online classes, but my in-person local classes are growing, too!

Interested? I will “train” you to do the easy moves that define the Move2Music class. This is a 50 minute “bell curve” class, taught in local community centers. You can use any music that inspires you – I choose a mix of  rock/Americana/Motown/techno-chill. Classes are flexible, generally Mondays at 1:00pm, Monday/Wednesday at 5:30pm or 6:00pm, Fridays at noon.

We could add more classes if you want to take it on!

If you are interested, I would love for you to come to a class, and also agree to be “trained” for a couple of hours.

The Arena – Space for Rent

Located in the heart of the Lyn-Lake community, The Arena is available for your rehearsal, class, and event needs!

Our space offers:
1,305 square feet (30×40) of sprung, Marley dance flooring.
Wall-length mirrors with curtains.
Changing room.
Access to multiple bus lines, including the 21, 4, 23, 612, and 18.

Hourly rates range from $17-$25, with discounts/special offerings available to BIPOC and LGBTQIA2+ communities. Inquire for savings. High availability Monday-Friday during daytime hours.

To request space, please email Mathew at arenadances@gmail.com.

Studio Stories: Reminiscing on Twin Cities Dance with Erika Thorne

This Thursday, June 27 at noon we hear from Erika Thorne for episode 153!

Erika has been a progressive activist, writer, facilitator and cultural worker since 1974. She focuses on cross-race coalition-building, anti-racism work with other whites, and diversity work. Within the dance community, most likely remember her from the Women’s Performance Network.
