Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theatre – Studio Space for Rent in Minneapolis

Located in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis, rent Zorongo Flamenco’s studio for classes, private rehearsals, events, and more! Our space is available to book in consecutive 30-minute periods when not in use by the Zorongo Flamenco school. 

First-time renters should contact Zorongo Flamenco for more information before booking.

A ballet teacher with 35+ years of experience teaching all levels and ages, Lisa’s welcoming ballet classes naturally guide students in refining their alignment, balance, and technique, while also discovering the value and importance of the use of weight in their dancing. Coupled with individual attention, feedback, and humor, students experience expansion and growth in body and mind – and experience joy in the process!

Students are encouraged to expect success and mistakes! Only when we allow ourselves to take chances and risk failure can we grow to our full potential. Every student is special, different, important, appreciated, encouraged, respected, unique, invited, and welcome. Come play and see for yourself!

Workshop Description
Touchpoints: Intro to Afro Embodied Healing: Soft Tender Shout
Grounded in Black socio-spiritual traditions of dance in the United States and across the globe, from two-step to Lamban, this workshop is focused on cultivating a gentle and restorative relationship with our bodies. Stretch, strengthen, condition, and release by engaging a movement-based pathway toward healing.

Movers who have various movement backgrounds and experience levels are welcome.
Workshops are for ages 18+. RSVP.

22nd Annual Dances at the Lake Festival

Ray Terrill Dance Group presents the 22nd annual Dances at the Lake Festival — two free concerts at the Rose Garden at Lake Harriet, open to the public.

Friday and Saturday, July 19 and 20, 7:00pm

The festival features a variety of dance forms performed by both professional adult and youth companies. The “stage” for the shows is the large grassy area between the two fountains near the Rose Garden at Lyndale Park Gardens. Audience members are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket and some snacks, drinks, or a picnic to enjoy the unique opportunity of seeing dance performed at the Rose Garden.

South Asian Arts and Theater House (SAATH) is excited to present the upcoming production collaboration with The Queer Circus to bring Karma – A Bollywood Circus, with a cast of 60+ diverse performers.

This year our choreographers from Duluth and the Twin Cities gather to share dances expressing relationships of all kinds.  Journey through relationships of abstract patterns to the relations of romance, friends, and family with dash of jazz, folk, modern, and lyrical dance. The Tamarack Dance Association will again follow the show with audience interactive folk-dance lesson. Audience members are invited up to Gichi-Ode’ Akiing to enjoy outdoor dances along the stunning background of Lake Superior and the Sculpture Garden. The park entrance is next to Zeitgeist
