Concerto Dance is excited to announce registration is now open for our third annual summer intensive. Open to advanced, pre-professional and professional dancers ages 16 and older. The intensive includes classes in jazz and modern dance technique along with company repertoire. Company auditions will take place Friday, August 4 following the intensive from 3:00-5:30pm.

At Creo Arts and Dance Conservatory, Minnetonka MN
Full Intensive: $250, or à la carte $50/day

Escalade: A Pay-as-Able Dance and Music Performance

Venus DeMars and Gemma Isaacson show their support for Nic’s work by performing for his fundraiser.

Including:
– Optional Beginning/Intermediate Yoga class from 5:30 to 6:30
– Venus De Mars sings some of her greatest hits from 6:45 to 7:15
– Gemma Isaacson dances Escalade from 7:15 to 7:45
– Final bids for the silent auction at 8:00

Concerto Dance Audition for 2023-24 Season

Concerto Dance is holding open auditions Friday, August 4 from 3:00-5:30pm at Creo Arts and Dance

  • For experienced dancers ages 18 and older.
  • Must have precious jazz and modern dance training.
  • Dancers must have availability Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9:00am-12:00pm, September-June; with breaks in December and March.
  • Bring a current resume and head shot.

Auditions will include brief class exercises followed by jazz and modern dance combinations.
Contracts include paid performances and rehearsal stipends.

Floorwork: Conversations and Knowledge Sharing Potluck at Red Eye Theater

Floorwork: a communal conversation and shared meal.

Every first Saturday! Floorwork was developed to hold conversations, knowledge sharing, and supportive space for dance artists and people who like to move.

This August Floorwork will focus on practice/perseverance for a desired long dance career – conversation assisted by Marciano Silva dos Santos of Contempo Physical Dance and independent teachers and performers Erin Thompson and Leslie O’Neill. Conversation will be held over a communal meal – bring your own dish to share in our potluck! ARENA DANCES will supply beverages, plates, napkins, and utensils.

Ragamala Dance Company is Hiring a Programs and Operations Director

Ragamala Dance Company is a professional dance company that creates original work, performs locally, nationally, and internationally, provides extensive outreach and educational activities, and operates a Bharatanatyam training center out of its studio in South Minneapolis.

Ragamala’s Programs and Operations Manager is a multifaceted position responsible for providing a wide variety of support to Ragamala’s leadership team. The ideal candidate thrives on taking initiative, possessing strong communication skills, balancing evolving priorities, coordinating details and logistics, and producing accurate and high-quality results.

Ragamala is one of the nation’s leading dance companies and is currently undergoing a stage of growth. The ideal candidate will personally grow along with the company and will have opportunities for advancement and commensurate compensation.

The Programs and Operations Manager reports to the Director of Operations and collaborates closely with the Artistic Directors, Communications Director, and other staff/dancers.

Collide Theatrical Apprentice Program

2023/2024 Apprentice Program, September 2023–May 2024

Collide Theatrical’s Apprentice Program is a professional training and rehearsal program for advanced professional-track dancers. The program provides the skills needed to pursue formal positions within the Collide company and in the world of theater dance.

Selected apprentice dancers will take technique class with the company 3 days a week, have an opportunity to perform in a Collide show, and, for those who commit to the full 9-month program, participate in an apprentice showcase at the end of the year.

The technical classes include a variety of styles rooted in ballet and jazz, but also including tap, acting for dance, and hip hop. Apprentice dancers will also have an opportunity to participate in monthly master classes with Broadway touring dance captains and industry professionals.

This is a tuition-based program.
Scholarships are available for underrepresented artists.
Enrollment is competitive and audition based.
Video submissions accepted.

Collide Theatrical Mentorship Program

2023/2024 Mentorship Program, September 2023–May 2024

Collide Theatrical’s Mentorship Program is a beginning/intermediate-level adult intensive program designed to strengthen basic dance technique in a safe and inclusive environment.

Mentorship Program participants (Mentees) will take technique class 3 days a week. The technical classes include a variety of styles rooted in ballet and jazz, but might also include tap, acting for dance, hip hop, and more. Mentees will also have an opportunity to participate in master classes with Broadway touring dance captains and industry professionals.

This is a tuition-based program.
Scholarships are available for underrepresented artists.
Participants must be over the age of 16.
Enrollment is open to anyone who is committed to improving their dance technique and serious about growing as a performer.
Space is limited.

Studio K Space Rental

Studio K, operated by Keane Sense of Rhythm, is a brand-new dance space built for percussive dance. Studio K features two studios with a lobby in the Creative Enterprise Zone in the Midway area of St. Paul.

Studio 1: 30’ x 34’ – 1020 square feet
Studio 2: 14’ x 20’ – 280 square feet
