DanceCo Presents Wolf Tales — Dance Fairytale Mashup

DanceCo returns to the stage this summer with free, interactive, family-friendly performances. Wolf Tales is a mashup of the familiar fairy tales Peter and the Wolf, Little Red Riding Hood, and the Three Little Pigs. The story is told by the Wolf, who is not big or bad, just misunderstood — and wants to set the record straight!

The show starts with an exciting, kid-focused workshop where audience members can learn and practice interactive parts of the show. Then, the DanceCo Artists take the stage for a 45-minute performance with opportunities for the audience to join the dancers on stage! Get ready to be a part of the magic.

Saturday, July 13, 10:00am and 11:30am
Lyndale Gardens Amphitheater

All shows are free! Please check the website or our social media channels for weather-related performance updates.

DanceCo is a professional performance company creating original, interactive dance narratives for young people ages 3-103! Directed by Matthew and Brittany Keefe and Karla Nweje. Performed by Emily Compaan, Cassie Edlund, Matthew Keefe, Jennifer Mack, Karla Nweje, Emily Pitts, Leeah Schuhwerck, Zachary Tuazon, and Maria Vitelli.

Seeking Dancers for a Collaborative, DIY Contemporary Performance

Audition: Tuesday, July 16, 6:30-8:30pm
Potential Callbacks: Tuesday, July 23, 6:30-8:30pm

Video audition available if needed.

In-person audition: We’ll be teaching some phrases from pieces we’ve already choreographed for the show as well as giving some space for improvisation. Wear whatever makes you comfortable!

Virtual audition: If you’re unavailable to join us in person, please set 32 counts of movement to any high energy song of your choosing. This show will be tied very closely to music, so please think about the musicality and accents of your movement! Additionally, please take a second video of you improvising to 64 counts of another song of your choosing.

Performance dates: January 24-26, 2025

We are looking for 2-3 dancers to join us for a collaborative choreographic process and self-produced dance performance. Our emergent ensemble is a small group of life-long dancers who want to develop our own show to revel in creating together and continuing to dance. Ideally, dancers are also interested in choreographing a 3-4 minute piece (or two) for the show.

At this point we cannot guarantee any stipends for the work. This is a self-funded passion project, but we hope to make some ticket revenue.

Please register for the in-person audition or submit your two videos by Monday, July 15: email emmajbharrison@gmail.com
