Autonomy and Personal Freedom – Awareness Through Movement with Sarah Baumert

6-week Feldenkrais® Awareness Through Movement Series with Sarah Baumert titled Autonomy and Personal Freedom: Lessons to Connect with Yourself.

July 23-September 3
Wednesdays at 6:30pm and Sundays at 4:00pm

The Feldenkrais Method® views health as the ability to meet the challenges of life with ease and grace. It is a state of being that allows us to move and function with confidence and to adapt to change with resilience.

The lessons in this series will help you discover how to utilize ground forces through your skeleton so you can find your own internal sense of length, lift, and personal freedom. These teachings will aim to empower you to find agency over your own health and sense of well-being. We use imagination, appreciation, and the relationship to both space and ourselves.

“It (Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement) is listening, thinking, feeling, appreciating both internally and externally what is happening, how the body moves in space” (Moshe Feldenkrais).

If you are looking for a way to improve your health and well-being, your sense of wholeness, or your artistic/athletic performance, this series may be a good option for you. ATM lessons can help you to become more aware of your body, improve your movement patterns, and reduce pain.

What is Included in the Series:

Movement

  • 12 livestream classes – each lesson is taught twice, once on Sunday and once on Wednesday.
  • Mini lessons to practice throughout the week.

Educational Talks

  • Pre-lesson anatomy.
  • The philosophical framework for ATM.
