BodyCartography’s Ecosomatic Adventure in Montezuma, Costa Rica

5-day immersion with Olive Bieringa, Otto Ramstad, Laura Cruz, and Ninoska Gómez
dance – Body-Mind Centering® – water dancing – forest walking – relational practices – contact improvisation

On our 25th anniversary BodyCartography joins with an intergenerational teaching team from Costa Rica exploring dance and ecosomatics in the tropics. Through movement and voice we will immerse ourselves in the elements and ecosystems of Montezuma.

We will share embodied practices to extend our relational webs into more-than-human ecosystems of earth, forest, river and ocean. We will offer practices for living, dancing and dying together on a damaged earth. Together we will practice breathing, moving, sensing, perceiving, digesting, and decomposing to help us perceive more of the whole scale of the sensitivities and intelligences within us and around us, the human and non-human, the transforming spaces, the before and after.

Body-Mind Centering® is an integrated and embodied approach to movement, the body and consciousness. It is an experiential study based on the embodiment and application of anatomical, physiological, psychophysical and developmental principles, utilizing movement, touch, voice and mind.
