Studio Space Available in South Minneapolis

Over 2000 square feet with windows, two mirrored walls, and a sprung hardwood floor. We are fully set up to handle your online Zoom classes and have many morning and daytime openings for you to come and hold or record your classes or rehearsals! The Jawaahir Dance Company Minneapolis location is conveniently located at 3010 Minnehaha Ave in The Hook and Ladder building. Only two blocks from the Lake Street/Midtown light rail station, and on the 7, 21, 27, and 53 bus routes. Off-street parking and bike rack.

$20 per hour. Rates quoted are for dance-related rentals only. Sorry, no party rentals and no dance socials. No Irish shoes or tap shoes permitted. Rental fees may change at the discretion of Jawaahir.

Young Dance Summer 2022 Programs

Young Dance is excited to dance with you this summer. We are offering a full schedule of programs, including weekly Creative Movement and Dance Together classes, as well as an exciting menu of 4-day camps featuring a variety of styles with some of the Twin Cities’ best educators.

Variety Camps with styles such as Hip Hop, Breaking, Ballet, Capoeira, Afro-Modern, Percussive, Afro-Brazilian, Modern, Jazz, and more, featuring a roster of phenomenal Teaching Artists.

Cassandra School In-Studio and Online Classes

Join our dance-learning community of all ages, sizes, and levels of experience to participate in the creative expression and health and fitness benefits of Middle Eastern dance. The beauty of this dance form is that it makes you feel wonderful in your own body.

The Arena – Space for Rent

Located in the heart of the Lyn-Lake community, The Arena is available for your rehearsal, class, and event needs!

Hourly rates range from $15-$25, with discounts/special offerings available to BIPOC and LGBTQIA2+ communities.

Our space offers:

  • 1,305 square feet (30×40) of sprung floor
  • Marley dance flooring
  • Full wall-length mirrors (with curtains for covering if preferred)
  • Free wi-fi
  • Changing room

We are situated on multiple bus lines, including the 21, 4, 23, 612, and 18, with plenty of free street parking around the building.

ARENA DANCES – Studio Stories with Marylee Hardenbergh

Join ARENA this Thursday, July 28 for Studio Stories: Reminiscing Twin Cities Dance History with Marylee Hardenbergh – Season 7, Episode 97

Marylee Hardenbergh has created over 50 outdoor site-specific dances at such sites as Sarajevo, the city of Acre on the Mediterranean, the Aerial High Lift Bridge in Duluth, the Housatonic and Anacostia Rivers, and a 7-site simultaneous performance the length of the Mississippi River.

MotionArt First Friday Improv Gathering

This event is open to people of all ages and abilities. Enjoy being present in the moment, responding to other dancers, finding new ways of moving, and discovering form as it emerges during this fun evening of creative movement. We’ll begin with an informal warm-up, then improvise together based on movement ideas offered by participants.

Come to move, to dance, to observe, or some of each!

Suggested donation $5-$15.
No one turned away for lack of funds.

Rentals starting at $12/hour!

Whether for dance rehearsals, classes, workshops, auditions, or readings – our studios can accommodate you. We offer affordable rates to support our community and ensure a space to practice and grow in.

A limited number of chairs and tables are available upon an emailed request. Equipment availability is based on the needs of the entire facility. To request special items for your rental please request at least 72 hours in advance.
