ARENA DANCES is seeking an experienced, creative leader who is passionate about increasing arts accessibility and advancing community-centric programming. The Managing Director will work alongside the Artistic Director and Board of Directors to support strategic planning, lead mission-driven programming, and manage daily operations. In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage with the many organizational facets of an arts nonprofit!

What you bring to the organization:

  • 2-5 years of experience in arts administration, nonprofit management, or a related area
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • High level of self-motivation, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities at a time
  • Skills in graphic design
  • Experience with digital media marketing
  • Desire to learn and grow with the organization

Additional attributes that we are hoping for:

  • Experience with finance, i.e. budgeting, QuickBooks, financial forecasting
  • Passion for dance
  • Experience with CRM software
  • Experience with WordPress websites
  • General understanding of Google Analytics and Google Ads

Studio Rentals at Collide Theatrical in St Paul

Need space to rehearse, choreograph, teach, or hold an event? Collide Theatrical has two studios available for rental in our beautiful St. Paul location.

Studio 1 has 1700 square feet of sprung floor, full wall-length mirrors, Rosco Adagio Marley dance floor, high ceilings, sky lights, and three chandeliers.

Studio 2 has 550 square feet of sprung wood floor.

Both studios have the following amenities:

  • Ballet barres for up to 18 students
  • Free and accessible parking and access to public transportation line
  • Gender-specific bathrooms (non-gender-specific bathroom available in the adjacent building)
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth room speakers
  • Cubbies for holding shoes and clothes
  • 2 long folding tables
  • Access to up to 30 folding chairs
  • HVAC heated and cooled spaces with temperature control
  • Hallway drinking fountains. Access to kitchenette area available upon request.

Single Rental:

Weekly Rental Rate:
Payment for rental bookings must be made 48 hours prior to your booking to hold your reservation. A signed rental agreement and certificate of insurance must be provided prior to your reservation. Threads Dance Nexus: Rent Our Space

Our 1,480 square foot space has a professional grade speaker sound system, sprung floors, barres and mirrors, is ADA compliant, and has two gender neutral changing rooms. Its large windows and garage door allow for an abundance of natural light and fresh air.

A new ventilation system and thorough cleaning between each use are compliant with guidelines for Covid-19 preparedness plans. Face coverings are required at all times and our maximum studio capacity is ten people, to allow for adequate distancing.

Conveniently located in the Seward neighborhood, we offer free parking and free side street parking. We are a five-minute walk from the Franklin Light Rail Station, and a 2-5 minute walk from nearest bus stops (lines 2, 9, 22, 67).

A nonrefundable deposit equal to one hour at the renter’s base rate is due to secure space.

Young Dance Seeks Teaching Artists for 2021-22 Session

Young Dance is seeking teachers, assistants, and substitutes for 2021-22 and beyond. Teachers with experience in the following styles are encouraged to apply: Hip Hop, Afro-Modern, Modern/Contemporary Technique, Ballet, Percussive Dance, and Creative Movement.

Founded in 1987, we believe young people are artists with something important to say and that working across differences is a benefit to all. Our mission is to transform lives through movement. We are an inclusive community where creativity flourishes and healthy risk-taking is encouraged. Our classes are open to everyone of all levels and abilities. Participants enjoy our collaborative and student-led approach to dance education. Our curriculum emphasizes technique, improvisation, and choreography through the elements of dance: Body, Action, Space, Time, and Energy. Dancers develop skills in observing, participating, and reflecting in a safe and supportive environment that values a commitment to self, to the group, and to lifelong learning.

Pay rate is $45/hour for lead teaching, $22.50/hour for assisting.

Covid-19 vaccination required.

Collide Theatrical Seeking Box Office Assistant

Collide Theatrical Dance Company is looking to hire a box office assistant for our 2021-2022 season.

Two full-length shows will be held in October and April at the Southern Theater, as well as three cabarets in December, January, and February at our St. Paul studio. For a full list of show dates and times, please visit www.collidetheatrical.org/show-dates.
*Note: We have filled the position for Frankenstein in October.

Duties include:

  • checking in attendees
  • marking reserved seating
  • helping with set-up and take-down
  • working with the Southern Theater’s box office staff
  • other tasks as needed

Pay is $15/hour. For each performance, the box office assistant needs to arrive two hours prior to the show.

Space at The Arena

Located in the heart of the LynLake neighborhood, The Arena is available for your rehearsal, class, and event needs!

Our space offers 1,305 square feet, 30’×40′ of sprung floor, Marley dance flooring, wall-length mirrors (with curtains to cover if preferred), free wifi and a changing room.

We are situated on multiple bus lines, including the 21, 4, 23, 612, 18, with plenty of free, street parking around the building.
