Studios for Rent at Ballet Co.Laboratory

Come create at Ballet Co.Laboratory. Our artistic home is available for hourly rentals to independent artists and arts organizations. Book a single day to work on your artistry, secure a month to rehearse a show, or facilitate your weekly programming here – the choice is yours! We look forward to collaborating with you on your space needs.

Public Transportation
The studio is accessible via the Greenline into downtown Saint Paul and the 71A or 71B bus.

Free parking is available in front of the studio.

Facility
We have five studios at Ballet Co.Laboratory with sprung floors, floor-to-ceiling mirrors, and barres, plus four gender-neutral restrooms, changing rooms, and comfortable lobby space with Wi-fi access and ample seating. The entire facility is HVAC heated and cooled.

Studio 1: 25′ x 50′ – 15-person capacity – $20/hour
Studio 2: 25′ x 50′ – 15-person capacity – $20/hour
Studio 3: 25′ x 30′ – 8-person capacity – $15/hour
Studio 4: 42′ x 50′ – 30-person capacity – Rental available via special request
Studio 5: 25′ x 28′ – 8-person capacity – $15/hour

Intermediate and Advanced Recreational Program at BCL

The School of Ballet Co.Laboratory’s Recreational Program offers classes for dancers ages 10-20 with a more flexible schedule and fewer hours per week than our Pre-Professional Program.

The Recreational Program includes ballet technique classes, add on sessions, rehearsals, and performance opportunities.

Open Enrollment: this program will run through May 2024.

Zenon Dance School – Spring Xchange Program/Work-Study

We are looking for volunteers to be a part of our Xchange Program for the Spring Session!

Xchange is Zenon’s work-study program that allows students to volunteer in exchange for dance class credit.
The Spring Session will run from March 25–June 2, 2024.

Weekday in-person shift = one class credit
Weekend in-person shift = two class credits
All online shifts = one class credit

Classes and Events at Communal Studio

Communal Studio is a collective space for the community to rent and offer classes, workshops, and events.

The space is 1200 square feet including a spacious entryway with coat hooks and shoe storage, a 629 square foot studio with dimmable lights, ceiling fans, mirrors on 2 walls and barres on 3 walls, a sound system with aux jack, and a back area with a bathroom, storage room, 2 sinks, and a mini fridge – plus free covered parking!

Hothouse Studio Rental – Northeast Minneapolis

Make Hothouse your home! Our space is available for hourly rentals to independent artists, freelance instructors, and companies. Like a community garden, filled with unique plots, the beauty of Hothouse is in the diversity of the people that fill our space.

Hothouse has expanded and now has three brand new studios to choose from on the second floor of the Kennedy Building.

Workshop with Roxane Wallace

Weekly Workshop with Roxane Wallace at Studio K

Dance 101
Fridays, 10:00-11:00am
March 29-April 19

In this class for adults 55+, we will explore elements of dance (body, action, space, time and energy) using low-impact, fun, modern dance-based sequences in these drop-in sessions with dance artist and instructor Roxane Wallace. Participation will result in increases in kinesthetic awareness, flexibility, balance, ease of movement and general health.

Please bring a small blanket, towel or yoga mat for floor work that will include stretching and strengthening at the beginning and cooling down at the end of each session.

TU Dance: Community Dance Class with Yusha-Marie Sorzano

Please join us at TU Dance Center for an intermediate/advanced level open class with Yusha-Marie Sorzano! This class is designed for students to deepen their understanding of ballet and modern technique in conversation. It aims to support and strengthen the individual through qualitative articulation in fixed and moving technical positions. Developing a sense of line through body, focus on detail, and breath meet here to inspire musicality, phrasing, and interpretation.

Yusha-Marie Sorzano, self-identified as Afro-Caribbean American, is a performer, choreographer, and educator. Currently a member of Camille A. Brown and Dancers and founding co-artistic director of Zeitgeist Dance Theatre, Yusha has appeared with TU Dance as a featured dancer several times. Her choreography has been commissioned by Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Nashville Ballet, Colorado Symphony, TU Dance, and elsewhere.
