Workshops, Intensives, and Master Classes
Tuition-free dance classes at Minnesota Dance Theatre as part of CAN Dance!
Youth in grades 6-12, or ages 12-18, who have a passion for dance, are invited to participate in a tuition-free dance program this fall at acclaimed dance company and school, Minnesota Dance Theatre (MDT), located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis.
The CAN Dance program introduces youth to foundations of dance technique, creative movement, ballet and contemporary dance–including modern, jazz, and hip hop, culminating in an in-studio showing for friends and family in December. Classes run October 3-December 15 and are taught by MDT’s distinguished faculty members and guest artists who aim to inspire and challenge students to achieve their best through classes designed to nurture artistry and self-confidence. Students are provided with transportation, dance attire, and snacks. No prior dance experience is needed.
Students who show interest and improvement during the fall may be invited to enter MDT’s Young Children’s Division or Performing Arts Division on a full merit scholarship (grant-pending), where students will be given the opportunity to perform in MDT’s annual student showcase and perform roles from our extensive repertoire.
