One Day Doushin Butoh Experience Workshop Online

This one-day workshop is for people who want a first-time experience of Doushin Butoh. The essence of Doushin Butoh is “resonance,” an experience beyond idea or concept that can only be felt. In this class, students are guided in simple repetitive movements that we call “conditioning.” As students you will be guided into a movement meditation and experience the connection between your body, mind, and the universe.

Katha Dance Theatre Virtual Summer Open House

Katha Dance Theatre is hosting a virtual open house class for prospective students with no previous Kathak training. This free 45-minute Zoom class offers a perfect introduction to Kathak for dancers of all abilities. Anyone over the age of six is welcome, regardless of experience and skill level!

To register, just send KDT an email at info@kathadance.org with your name and contact information. You’ll receive a Zoom link for the class, which will take place at 6:00pm CT on June 4.

MotionArt Virtual Adult Modern Dance Classes

MotionArt’s mission is to share the art of dance and the joy of movement with people of all ages and abilities. We strive to enrich lives by fostering creativity, body awareness, and self-expression in a fun, non-competitive, welcoming environment.

We offer ongoing dance classes during these uncertain times both virtually on Zoom and outside (maintaining physical distance). Paying the regular rate helps keep our organization afloat; however, no one will be turned away for inability to pay. There is also an option to pay what you can. MotionArt Virtual Children’s Dance Classes

MotionArt focuses on nurturing children’s individual creativity while facilitating their understanding of the dance elements of space, time, and energy. Ages 3-5 explore these elements through playful, structured activities allowing them to expand their movement vocabulary, develop body awareness and gain self-confidence. Ages 5-7 explore the dance elements while being introduced to new movement skills and the creation of their own dances. Ages 7-12 expand their creative and kinesthetic awareness while learning basic movement skills of modern dance.

We offer ways for children to dance during these uncertain times through Zoom and outdoor classes. Please go to motionartmn.org to sign up for classes. There are various options for payment/donations, and no one will be turned away for inability to pay.

10th Wave Chamber Music Collective is collaborating with choreographer and dancer Yuki Tokuda for a dance concert featuring music by Asian American composers.
