Join us for our adult/teen drop-in classes! 

Dance is for everyone! Get your body moving and enjoy a variety of dance and conditioning classes, including Pilates. 

You can join us in-person, or virtually via Zoom. All attending dancers must sign-in on MindBody. Class sign-in will close 10 minutes before the class begins. Class size is limited to 10 dancers for in-studio.

Spring into Summer at Ballet Royale

Unlike any other in Minnesota, this intensive is a great way to kick off the summer!

For motivated dancers: Experience Ballet Royale’s groundbreaking training featuring Progressing Ballet Technique® cross-training, the industry’s most advanced and cutting edge regimen specifically designed to improve ballet dancers’ core stability, weight placement, alignment, and muscle memory. This program will maximize improvement and accelerate students’ progress and is crucial for those preparing to attend summer intensive programs.

AUDITION REQUIRED. Please contact the studio for a private audition. Intermediate/advanced through professional, ages eleven and up. Girls must have completed a minimum of one year en pointe.

We are offering both online-only options and in-person classes. Class sizes are limited.

Mulier Dierum – Pop Up Performance Fundraisers

Mulier Dierum (Chronicles of Woman) is an epic project celebrating the generational wisdom and wildness of women and femme power. Support the creation of this new women-led work, see excerpts from the upcoming evening length performance of Mulier Dierum and pieces from the repertoire of See Change Treble Choir, and enjoy a Covid-safe celebration of returning to in-person live performance with lots of space for outdoor social distancing!

Directed and choreographed by Off-Leash Area Co-Artistic Director Jennifer Ilse, Mulier Dierum is being created in collaboration with See Change Treble Choir under the direction of Allyss Haecker, singing an original score by Linda Kachelmeier, with performances by dancers Gemma Isaacson, Christine McGinnis, Parisha Rajbhandari, Julie Warder, Heather Klopchin, Rachel Lieberman, Jennifer Mack, Esther Ouray, and Jennifer Ilse; with Off-Leash Area Co-Artistic Director Paul Herwig‘s immersive live animation projection design and sound design, edited and mixed by Reid Kruger.

Beginning Doushin Butoh Workshop Online

Beginning Doushin Butoh Workshop is designed to learn and experience the basic physical methods of Subbody Butoh Method and basic movements and meditation techniques of Spring Forest Qigong. It is a prerequisite for the Advanced Doushin Butoh Workshop.

This workshop will focus on the essential aspects of Doushin Butoh, such as quieting down your daily consciousness, creating movements that are novel and unique to the individual body, and resonating with everything around you.

Doushin Butoh Workshop is a group process and this workshop requires no previous dance experience. Anyone who would like to explore his or her hidden creative potentials is welcome!

Ananya Dance Theatre: Altars of Our Sacred Geometries

Join us as we perform again In Response!

A series of artistic rejoinders to urgent issues in BIPOC, women, womxn, and femme communities.

Altars of Our Sacred Geometries explores the vibration, life-force, collaboration, and live public performance as we emerge from pandemic. Five 90-minute performances will feature dancers performing duets with live musicians. No performances will be the same, but all will connect vibrationally and resonate thematically.

Nexus Grand Opening

Come celebrate the Grand Opening of the Threads Dance Nexus as we officially open our doors to the community!

New at Ballet Royale: Adult Dancer Workshops

To continue the mission of bringing dance to all, Ballet Royale has created two different day workshops especially catered for the adult recreational dancer. This year we will have two levels, Beginner/Intermediate and Intermediate/Advanced. A logo water bottle is included. Ask the office for dance teacher price or level placement.

These workshops include the History of Ballet and PBT®, ballet, variations (Intermediate/Advanced only), jazz, and Haitian dance. Lunch will be outside, bring blankets!

Threads Dance Connections Summer Intensive: Early Enrollment Extended

Threads Dance Project is excited to announce the return of our unique summer intensive experience! Even more exciting is that this year’s intensive will serve as a preliminary workshop where students can get early practice with audition material in preparation for our upcoming audition for our new pre-professional dance training program, Youth Dance Project (YDP), scheduled for July 31.

Our Dance Connections 2021 Summer Intensive includes developmentally appropriate movement classes in ballet, modern, creative movement, composition/choreography, improvisation, and hip hop. We are especially eager for your student to experience the distinctive arts activism and dance history course that gives our summer intensive its name!

We invite you to join us in our bright and airy new studio this summer where your student will enjoy rigorous dance education in a fun and inclusive atmosphere. Early enrollment is now extended to June 14. Come learn, experience, create and connect with us!
